Presentation

Presentation of Research Unit on Tropical Agrosystems (ASTRO)

Shortly...

The research unit ASTRO is currently developing multi-displinary research on crop sciences, environment assessment, phytopathology, agornomy and economy in order to design innovative cropping systems with a low level of chemical inputs and contributing to the local sustainable development issues of local regions, responding to consumer's desires, and with the better chance of being adopted by local farmers

Human resources and technical equipment

59 permanent workers, with 21 researchers - engineers - assistant professor. In average 3 to 5 PhD. student are working in the unit

Sensors and automatic data capture on physical properties of environment

Experimental stations: fields, glasshouses, growth room,

Laboratory with in vitro culture

Microbiology alboratory

Molecular biology laboratory

Laboratory with physico chemical analysis

Shared resourcers for the development of softwares and decision aid tools
